April is Stress Awareness Month and the media will be focused on all things stress-related, including how to stress less. Join that messaging by letting your customers know that flowers are scientifically proven to provide a sense of calm and can play a significant role in reducing stress. The Society of American Florists has a Stress Less Resource Center with information, graphics and tips to help you educate your customers on the stress-relieving power of flowers and plants.
Use SAF’s graphics, photos and videos to share these messages with your customers:
- Flowers have an immediate impact on happiness. People who receive flowers overwhelmingly report an increase in their mood, which is likely because flowers provide the opportunity for contact with nature, a well established health-promoting strategy.
- Flowers have a long-term positive effect on moods. People who receive flowers report feeling less depressed, anxious, and agitated—as well as demonstrating a higher sense of enjoyment and satisfaction.
- Flowers in the home decrease stress and improve moods. Flowers make a space more welcoming. They can provide a breath of fresh air and help customers unwind after a hectic day.
Be sure to visit SAF’s Stress Less Resource Center for additional tools that will help you capitalize on the benefits of flowers.
