The Society of American Florists’ membership includes all segments of the industry — and that community is the heart of SAF. This bi-weekly feature will spotlight SAF members sharing inspirational stories, professional insights, and the opportunity to form new industry connections.
LaToya Ferguson’s parents operated a flower shop in Connecticut for 27 years and Ferguson helped them with everything, from driving deliveries to cleaning and designing. In 2019, Ferguson moved to Georgia and decided to open her own shop, Sweet Psalms Florist, in Conyers. She knows that flowers play an important role in a person’s life and loves to help create special moments for her customers. In fact, Sweet Psalms’ motto is “Creating floral harmonies and lasting memories!”
Ferguson says her favorite thing about being an SAF member is the valuable information about the current business climate, trainings, online marketing tools, education and more. She especially loves that she can access this information 24/7.
Ferguson was among the more than 100 first-timers at SAF Orlando 2021 and said she enjoyed meeting her peers in the industry, seeing florists she knew from her parents’ shop, and hearing about the challenges and successes that others are experiencing.
Ferguson was also featured on SAF’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.
