Raise awareness on Women’s Day, observed annually on March 8, commemorates the movement for women’s rights, and for some, it is customary to give flowers to mothers, wives, grandmothers and daughters, as well as coworkers, teachers and friends, in recognition of the day.
“Women’s Day provides an opportunity to promote flowers as a loving gesture to recognize deserving women,” said SAF Vice President of Marketing Jennifer Sparks.
That’s what a wholesaler in Plymouth, Minnesota, did last year. Nancy Martinez, lead product manager for Len Busch, said, “Our team really wanted to do our part in creating awareness and helping our customers spread the word to their customers. We created a marketing packet for them to use as a tool to make this easy.”
Another tool they found helpful? A customizable press release from SAF’s Women’s Day Resource Center that the team sent to local media.
SAF’s Women’s Day Resource Center includes ideas and materials to generate awareness for Women’s Day and build sales. Members have exclusive access to social media graphics and post suggestions, print ads, fliers, counter card, printable posters, suggested talking points for media interviews, and radio commercial scripts.
