Philly Shop Capitalizes on Super Bowl Excitement with Raffle, Photo Ops

Stein Your Florist in Philadelphia capitalized on the excitement of the Super Bowl to connect with customers and local media.

For a longtime business in Philadelphia, the Super Bowl — and the Eagles’ big win —provided plenty of opportunity to celebrate with their customers, and promote their hometown roots.

Stein Your Florist put itself front and center for Super Bowl fun last week. The shop created an oversized Eagle-themed tribute to be used in a neighborhood pep rally and then invited customers and fans to stop by throughout the weekend to snap pics with the spirited design.

“We gave everyone that came in a free raffle ticket for a chance to win the Eagles tribute just in time for the big game, as well as, a free carnation, tipped Eagles green,” said Jennifer Kelly. The winner happened to be a customer who recently booked his wedding at the shop.  “He just barely fit the tribute in his car trunk when he came back to pick it up and told us that he was going to display it proudly on his front lawn for everyone to see!”

The tribute — and the shop’s enthusiasm — also generated positive press coverage, including stories by the local ABC news affiliate, the Northeast Times, an area paper, and student journalists from Temple University. The neighborhood civic association stopped by to take pictures and cross-promote the effort. The shop also posted frequently throughout the raffle on Facebook, including a video announcing the winner.

“Anytime our community is excited about something we love getting to connect with everyone and share those joyous moments with them,” Kelly said. “We’re not just the flower shop on corner, we’re the florist that cheered for the home team with the entire city, and to see them bring home the Super Bowl win was the icing on the cake!”
