When Ford set out to survey the retail landscape at the start of 2017, it found something notable: 48 percent of Americans say they’ll buy more from a retailer who personalizes their experience.
The No. 1 way to personalize a customer’s purchase (and turn him or her into a loyal fan)? Train your staff to provide a shopping experience that makes people feel special.
To show florists and their staff how to embrace that “yes, we can!” attitude toward customer service, the Society of American Florists has tapped Art Conforti, PFCI, the owner of Bloomerang Solutions, to present a can’t-miss session next month during SAF’s 1-Day Profit Blast in St. Louis. Underwritten by Baisch & Skinner and DWF Wholesale the event takes place on Saturday, July 22.
Conforti is a well-known pro in the industry. He built Beneva Flowers in Sarasota, Florida into one of the country’s most prosperous shops by asking customers what they want and calibrating his business around their responses.
During “Delivering the ‘Wow’ Factor,” Conforti will share best practices for removing pain points, using body language and inflection and getting departments to collaborate for optimal efficiency.
In addition to addressing customer service, SAF’s 1-Day Profit Blast in St. Louis includes a hands-on design program, and presentations on social media marketing and money management:
- “Tiny Houses, Big Design Opportunities,” by Derek Woodruff, AIFD, CF, CFD, PFCI, and sponsored by Syndicate Sales
- “The Social Selling Mindset” by Crystal Vilkaitis, owner of Crystal Media and one of Floral Management’s newest monthly contributors.
- “Treasure Hunt: Finding Your Hidden Profits” by Derrick Myers, CPA, CFP, PFCI, president of Crockett, Myers & Associates, Inc.
Participants also will have opportunities to network and peruse the Supplier Showcase, where floral industry vendors share their newest products.
The cut-off date for guaranteeing the SAF room rate at the Profit Blast hotel is June 30. Early registration ends July 11, and saves you $60. The program offers a low registration fee of $139 early-bird for members and $99 for each additional registrant from the same company. Additional events will be held in Boston on Sept. 23, sponsored by Jacobson Floral Supply; and Louisville, Kentucky on Nov. 4, sponsored by Bill Doran Company.
