In New Marketing Kit, SAF Promotes Flowers’ Health Benefits

by | Mar 22, 2017 | Floral Industry News | 0 comments

Carol Caggiano, AIFD, PFCI, puts the finishing touches on an arrangement photographed for SAF’s “Flower Power” poster.

Society of American Florists members on the hunt for marketing materials that quickly and memorably emphasize the health benefits of floral gifts to consumers will soon have powerful new resources at their disposal.

Earlier this week, SAF wrapped a photo shoot for its 2017 Local Marketing Kit. The kit includes two posters, “Flower Power” and “Happiness Delivered,” that reference results of SAF’s Emotional Impact of Flowers Study. Conducted at Rutgers, that study proves the presence of flowers triggers happy emotions and heightens feelings of life satisfaction.

Both posters are part of a kit SAF will send to retailer members in August to fuel their local marketing efforts. Members also will  have exclusive access to customizable print ads, fliers, web ads and Facebook sharable graphics complementing the poster designs. Matching postcards and statement stuffers also will be available for order.

SAF member Carol Caggiano, AIFD, PFCI, of A. Caggiano Inc. in Jeffersonton, Virginia, designed the flowers for the posters, and professional photographer Renee Comet photographed them. (Caggiano also recently designed the corsage and boutonnière showcased on two U.S. Postal Service stamps.)

SAF’s consumer marketing programs and materials are possible thanks to voluntary contributions to the SAF Fund for Nationwide Public Relations by wholesalers, suppliers, importers and growers.
