When “Bachelor in Paradise” alum and Northern Virginia native Ashley Iaconetti called Beth and Lee Herman, owners of Palace Florists in Washington, D.C., to see if they’d like to participate in a glam cocktail party with a philanthropic twist, they didn’t hesitate to jump on board.

The Hermans correctly identified the event as a way to connect with affluent 20-somethings, i.e., prospective bridal clients. Hundreds of millennials turned out for the sold-out party at Velocity Five, a hip venue in nearby Centreville, Virginia.

The event featured several former “Bachelor in Paradise” cast mates, a silent auction of their personal belongings, and a rose ceremony. (On both the long-running “Bachelor” and the spinoff, “Bachelor in Paradise,” the bachelor gives a rose to the women who he chooses to keep around for another week of competition.) The Hermans donated 200 roses for this.
