Many floral industry members have been wondering if the Society of American Florists’ popular Petal It Forward initiative will still take place this year, and how it will look with physical distancing guidelines around the country. SAF has recognized that the feel-good initiative is especially necessary this year during the COVID19 pandemic and will be kicking off the initiative on October 21. To ensure safety and social distancing at your event in your community, SAF has put together tips on how to adapt your planning to the pandemic and has created new printable materials.
SAF’s tips to adapt your Petal It Forward event to the pandemic include bringing bundles to centralized locations, leveraging existing distribution channels, offering curbside pickup, encouraging community members to honor area heroes and to just keep your event simple. New and updated templates will also help recipients feel safe at your Petal It Forward event this year. Our new mask template will help encourage social distancing, our sandwich board template will allow participants to learn about the event from a distance and our flower card templates will give directions to recipients without the face-to-face contact. These templates all come with instructions on how to print each item!
