Two hours. That’s how much time the average consumer now spends on social media every day. The questions become: What can you do to grab some of that time and encourage those passive scrollers to become active customers? What are the best practices for social media in 2018 and looking ahead to 2019?
On Oct. 7, the Society of American Florists is bringing digital marketing expert Crystal Vilkaitis to Portland, Oregon to help answer those questions and many others during the association’s 1-Day Profit Blast.
Sponsored by Frank Adams Wholesale Florist, SAF’s 1-Day Profit Blast in Portland will give Vilkaitis a platform to share some best practices and proven tips for successful marketing strategies during her session “What’s Up (and Coming) with Social Media.”
Key ingredients to any smart plan? Persistence and patience, she said.
“I encourage owners to be patient, sales from social media often doesn’t happen overnight,” said Vilkaitis, owner of the Social Edge. But, she added, there are things you can do that might show you some immediate foot traffic.
For instance, “we typically see immediate response when shops go Live on Facebook,” she said. ” often have people coming in that day or the next day looking for the products mentioned in the video.”
During her session, Vilkaitis will walk the audience through the new and most useful social media tips and tricks. She’ll share:
- how to create targeted Facebook ads with a high ROI
- how to boost visibility with video tools like FacebookLive and IGTV and
- why Messenger bots will be a game changer in customer communication
Change doesn’t happen overnight, however, and Vilkaitis is quick to tell business owners that social media success depends on you not living in a vacuum.
SAF’s 1-Day Profit Blast Portland also features high-demand industry speakers including customer service pro Tim Huckabee, who will present “Smart Selling“; Floral Management contributor Derrick Myers, CPA, CFP who will talk profits in “Treasure Hunt: Finding Your Hidden Profits“; and Derek C.
