Members to Receive New Local Marketing Posters

Keep an eye on the mail. The Society of American Florists’ 2017 Local Marketing Kit has shipped to member retailers, wholesalers and growers. In it are two new posters promoting the research-proven health benefits of floral gifts with floral arrangements designed in on-trend colors. Members have exclusive access to matching customizable print ads, fliers, web ads and Facebook sharable graphics complementing the posters at safnow.org/kits.

“These new materials are designed to set professional florists apart,” said SAF Vice President of Consumer Marketing Jennifer Sparks. “They position florists as professional experts offering a wide selection of top quality flowers.”

“Flower Power” and “Happiness Delivered” headline the materials, referring to the Rutgers University research  demonstrating the presence of flowers triggers happy emotions, heightens feelings of life satisfaction and affects social behavior in a positive manner far beyond what is normally believed.

The materials feature floral arrangements designed by member Carol Caggiano, AIFD, PFCI, of A. Caggiano Inc. in Jeffersonton, Virginia, who recently designed the corsage and boutonnière showcased on the U.S. Postal Service’s “Celebration” stamps.

“Vibrant shades of violet and green including anemone, veronica, carnations, hydrangea and hellebores designed in an organic looking stone container give us a modern and powerful expression of caring,” Caggiano said describing the “Flower Power” arrangement. “Hanging amaranthus and clusters of berzilla berries add just the right amount of texture with bursts of luxurious ferns popping from the blooms introducing a woodsy touch, which is ones of today’s most popular trends.”

“Happiness Delivered” shows a “modern arrangement in forward-reaching shades of red, coral and butter yellow,” Caggiano said. “Roses, ranunculus, tulips and poppies come together accented with a textured fringed ribbon. Tendrils of jasmine vine peak out amongst the blooms adding just a bit of energy and fun to the bouquet.”
