A new focus on guest experience “is the single biggest trend and the most universal — no matter the couple, everyone is looking for a custom celebration that’s reflective of them,” Lauren Kay, senior style editor at The Knot, told Floral Management editors in this month’s cover story.

Many weddings today are a multi-vendor operation — with bands (even marching bands), photo booths, tattoo artists — joining the party and fighting for their share of the budget. Gone are the simple days of hiring a caterer, photographer and florist. Couples want MORE and the more you can do for them means the bigger your cut of the nuptial budget.

To ensure florists and flowers still play a central role in the full scale production that is a wedding, SAF’s Floral Management went straight to the source. Since 1996, The Knot has dished ideas to brides (and increasingly grooms, too) about all things wedding. This month in Floral Management, Senior Style Editor Lauren Kay shared some of her best tips, including:

  • How best to capitalize on couples’ desire for “extreme personalization” on every wedding detail.
  • Why you should absolutely take your top local wedding planner out for a cup of coffee — and soon.
  • What the advent of new technology — drones in the sky! GoPro cameras in bouquet, hash tags everywhere — does and doesn’t mean for your wedding business.

Read all about it in the March 2016 issue of Floral Management. Have some time to spare? Check out the magazine’s archives for past coverage of all things wedding.
