SAFPAC Party Brings Trends, Pop-Ups, Expert Insight

Major Garrett, CBS News’ Chief White House Correspondent, headlined the SAFPAC dinner and reception in 2018. This year’s SAFPAC Party will include speakers and discussions of industry trends and serve as a pep rally ahead of SAF’s 40th annual Congressional Action Days.

This year’s SAFPAC Party on March 9 during SAF’s 40th annual Congressional Action Days will be a pep rally ahead of industry members’ visits with lawmakers on March 10. It will also provide an opportunity for participants to engage in industry trends discussions, hear pop-up conversations with experts and make an investment in SAFPAC.

SAFPAC, the Society of American Florists’ Political Action Committee, is the only national political action committee dedicated to advocating for the floral industry — “it’s the power behind the advocacy punch of SAF,” said Paul Fowle, AAF, SAF’s treasurer and a co-chairman of SAFPAC.

“Funds raised via SAFPAC help elect candidates who support the floriculture industry, and they’re also a means to establish and maintain relationships with key lawmakers in Congress,” Fowle said. “They are a critical component of SAF’s advocacy efforts when educating members of Congress about the issues affecting the floriculture industry.”

“Investments made in SAFPAC have helped ensure the continued support on Capitol Hill of critical industry reports and efforts, such as the Floriculture Crops Summary and the Floriculture and Nursery Research Initiative,”Fowle added. “Funds have also bolstered relationships among industry members and lawmakers and kept vital issues such as immigration reform and minimum wage requirements front and center with legislators.”

There is an additional fee to attend the SAFPAC party. To learn more, contact SAF’s Senior Vice President Katie Butler: (703) 838-5200 or email  kbutler@safnow.org.
