Looking for a way to promote Women’s Day that doesn’t feel overtly sales-y? Why not spend the week celebrating your female employees and sharing their stories with your followers?
Pulling back the curtain to reveal your team’s personality is an extremely effective social media strategy, maintains Crystal Vilkaitis, owner of The Social Edge and a featured speaker at the Society of American Florists’ upcoming 1-Day Profit Blast in Boston. “It’s important to show consumers the people behind the brand,” she said. “Many customers prefer to patronize businesses where they feel emotionally connected with the staff.”
Try this:
- Devote a blog post or email message about Women’s Day, personalizing it by recognizing the incredible women in your shop.
- Give each lady a turn in the spotlight with individual posts on Facebook and Instagram. Share fun facts, such as her background, biggest achievements, favorite flowers, random talents and why you’re proud she’s part of your team.
- Cap off the week with a small party, such a staff-wide lunch or happy hour. Take photos and flaunt the solidarity online.
