SAF Needs Your Input on Public Policy Issues

by | Oct 3, 2018 | Government Relations, Week In Review | 0 comments

“For decades, SAF has been on the forefront of pushing for reform to our immigration system that will ensure access to a reliable and stable workforce,” said Shawn McBurney, SAF’s senior director of government relations.

In the wake of several high-profile accomplishments in Washington, SAF would like to get feedback about the public policy issues important to you.

During Congressional Action Days (CAD) 2018, SAF members successfully lobbied their members of Congress to increase funding for the Floriculture and Nursery Research Initiative and to publish the 2018 Floriculture Crops Report.  SAF, working with other industry groups, was also successful in including language in the Farm Bill to protect floriculture innovators.

SAF continues to press for longstanding priorities of the industry such as immigration reform, simplifying compliance with the Affordable Care Act and other issues.

The survey gives you a chance to rate the importance of several public policy issues and suggest new issues to address as well.

The information gathered from the survey will be used by SAF to guide its advocacy efforts and the issues highlighted during CAD 2019.

Mark your schedule to attend the next CAD on March 11-12, 2019, to make your voice heard in Washington.
