SAF provides members with template to create 3”x3” Petal It Forward cards (or you can create stickers) to the flowers, which has instructions for recipients to share their flower giving and receiving experiences on social media — and promoting your shop at the same time, as well as a template for Petal It Forward T-shirts.
Customizable Petal It Forward event materials can help promote the October 24 event. SAF provides members with a Flower Card Template and a T-Shirt Template, as well as a host of other resources and advice, at safnow.org/petalitforward.
Petal It Forward is a “random acts of kindness” type of flower giveaway, where consumers receive two flower bouquets (or flowers) — one to keep and one to share — to demonstrate the Rutgers University research that shows flowers make people happy.
SAF is urging industry members to conduct their own local events to make it a nationwide event. “Our goal is to have Petal It Forward events on October 24th in all 50 states,” said SAF’s Vice President of Marketing Jennifer Sparks.
For your local Petal It Forward event, Sparks recommends that you and your staff wear branded Petal It Forward T-shirts in your shop’s signature color. SAF provides members with a T-Shirt template here.
