In Note to Obama Girls, Bush Twins Lovingly Recall White House Florist

A letter from a pair of famous first daughters went viral last week—and it included a charming and heartfelt shout-out to a florist.

“Never forget the wonderful people who work at the White House,” wrote Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Bush to Malia and Sasha Obama.

The letter was intended to welcome the younger Obama girls into a new sorority of former first daughters, and it included a fond tidbit about former White House Florist Nancy Clarke.

During their grandfather’s inauguration, the Bush twins wrote, Clarke, “ushered us in from the cold. She helped us make colorful bouquets of winter flowers for our grandparents’ bedside. Twenty years later, Nancy did the flowers for Jenna’s wedding. Cherish your own Nancy.”
