Tis the season to pop the question! According to Wedding Wire, nearly 40 percent of marriage proposals happen between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve. With a little legwork, you can be ready to grab big business when couples announce their big news.

Try this:

  • Evaluate your wedding portfolio online. Do you have a Pinterest account? If not, get one stat, then get to work building boards that reflect various color schemes and styles to entice brides to be. Does your Facebook page include albums of past wedding work?   • Pick your favorite wedding image (a professional close up of your most fabulous bouquet, perhaps) to post to Facebook and Instagram in the days after Thanksgiving with a message along the lines of, “Congratulations to all the newly engaged couples out there! If someone you know just said, ‘yes,’ please give them our name. We would love to make their special day as beautiful as possible!” Be sure to include a link to your wedding images so prospective customers can dig in right away.
  • Email your former brides. Wish them happy holidays and kindly remind them how much their referrals can help your business. Share a link where they can write a review. Offer them a small incentive (a $25 gift card, complimentary bouquet, etc.) for each one of their friends who picks you to style their wedding.
