Sometimes, good things just fall in your lap. Such is the case with an article circling the Internet titled, “23 Perfectly Valid Reasons to Buy Yourself Flowers.”
Buzzfeed shows readers nearly two dozen ways flowers can improve their lives.
The piece, compiled as a visual-heavy list (in traditional Buzzfeed form), depicts flowers as a reasonably priced indulgence that delivers immediate payoffs, whether you need to feel better after a rough day in the office (reason no. 1), want to freshen up the look (no. 10) or smell (no. 18) of your home, would like to “up your Instagram game” (no. 6), or are itching to get your partner in an “amorous” mood (no. 20). (Great minds think alike: SAF mailed its members two beautiful, color posters this week that dovetail with a few of the Buzzfeed themes.)
A lot of these reasons touch on research familiar to SAF members, such as Rutgers University’s “Emotional Impact of Flowers” study. But seeing the findings broken down as specific scenarios, itemized and accompanied with photos, makes the message all the more impactful.
