Radio Script: Just Because

Instructions:

This 60-second radio script offers the opportunity to promote your shop in the community. You customize the commercial by replacing any bold items with your shop information. The spot can be recorded with local talent at either a production studio or radio station. The announcer’s tag at the end of the commercial allows you to give details about any specials you are having or to reiterate store information.

SFX: (Phone ring, pick up)

WOMAN 1: Hello?

SFX: (Woman #2 sounds as if over phone line)

WOMAN 2: (Warmly) Judy…it’s mom.

WOMAN 1: (A little mischievously) Oh, hi, Mom.

WOMAN 2: A very nice man just delivered a beautiful flower arrangement.

WOMAN 1: Good!

WOMAN 2: I’ll say, they’re stunning! But I’m a little puzzled.

WOMAN 1: What do you mean, Mom?

WOMAN 2: Well, you always send me flowers on special occasions, like my birthday or Mother’s Day, but what’s so

special about today?

WOMAN 1: (Laughing) Mom…did you even read the card?

WOMAN 2: (Laughing) Gee…no. In all the excitement, I forgot.

SFX: (Sound of envelope tearing open.)

WOMAN 2: It says, “Just because…love, Judy.”

WOMAN 1: And that’s why I sent you flowers, Mom…just because.

WOMAN 2: (With a little catch in her voice) Oh…Judy.

WOMAN 1: And because I love you, Mom.
