How to Write a Press Release

A short, well-written news release is the best way to get your story in the hands of reporters. Your goal is to provide a good story and the facts to support it. It should include:

  • A clear headline that draws attention.
  • Lead-in sentence that states who, what, when, where and how.
  • No more than one page of information.
  • Supporting facts and/or quotes.
  • Contact information.
