Premier floral and gifting company, FTD (Nasdaq: FTD), is proud to announce that Lead Floral Designer Andrea Ancel has been granted the coveted Certified Floral Designer (CFD®) designation by the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD®). AIFD® annually grants the esteemed recognition to floral designers who demonstrate artistic floral knowledge and superiority.
Members of AIFD® lead the floral industry in advancing the art of professional floral design. AIFD® evaluates candidates on categories including mechanics, balance, color, theme, line and creativity. Ancel was awarded her designation after demonstrating her understanding of the concepts of design through education and by subjecting her floral design work to a vigorous peer evaluation conducted by an international panel of design experts. In addition to being honored with the CFD designation, Ancel’s designs and evaluation marks were considered to be so artistic that she has also been invited to become an Accredited Member of AIFD.
“We are so excited that Andrea has been honored with the AIFD® designation. It’s a testament to her excellent design skills,” said FTD.com General Manager and Senior Vice President Lincoln Rodman. “Andrea’s floral expertise is an integral part in maintaining FTD’s 107-year-old legacy and mission to delight its customers through artistic, handcrafted floral arrangements.”
Ancel earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Textile Design from the Parsons School of Design. Her distinguished career as a floral artist includes designing and executing ultra-high end creations for major clients like the Whitney Museum of American Art, The New York Times, MTV®, Estée Lauder and now FTD. Ancel is responsible for developing FTD.com’s collection of artisan-designed, handcrafted bouquets that help thoughtful people express their most important sentiments and feel like an exceptional gift giver.
