N.Y. Florist to Share Social Media Secrets

Ready to grow your business? You need to be where your customers are — in 2020, that’s on social media. On March 31, a fourth-generation florist from New York will share how she’s learned to divide and conquer her social media plan — and tips you can implement, too.

According to the 2020 Consumer Culture Report, 77 percent of 18- to 34-year-olds use Facebook everyday — while 68 percent of 35- to 54-year-olds and 52 percent of those 55 and older do the same. Meanwhile, 70 percent of millennials use Instagram daily — compared to 39 percent of 35- to 54-year-olds and 9 percent of those 55 and up.

Key takeaways? Knowing where your customers are is important but understanding which customers each platform attracts is critical, too — so that you can strategically use your time and deliver the highest impact content.

Those are some of the themes Carly Anechiarico of Blossom Flowers, Yonkers and White Plains, New York, will take up March 31 during the Society of American Florists’ 1-Day Profit Blast in San Antonio. Sponsored by the Bill Doran Company, the educational event features three speakers plus a Suppliers Showcase, reception and plenty of networking time.

During her session, “You Need a (Social Media) Plan!”, Anechiarico will dig into how to manage social media strategically, giving tips on how floral pros can balance the tasks with intermediate- to advance-level tips. Participants can plan to walk away with new ideas on how to create, manage and evaluate their social media strategies and inspiration on how to take their online marketing via these platforms to the next level, she said.

“Having an outlet to share the passion and hard work that goes into what we do everyday is really special,” she added. “It’s super interesting to see how your content works for you and what your market really responds to.”

SAF’s 1-Day Profit Blast in San Antonio also includes:

  • “Stress-Free Events” with Tim Farrell, AAF, AIFD, PFCI, of Farrell’s Florist, Drexel Hall, Pennsylvania (sponsored by Smithers Oasis)
  • Extraordinary Service in Your Shop Every Day” with Sam Bowles, FSC, of FloralStrategies and Allen’s Flowers & Plants, San Diego (sponsored by FloristWare).

Registration is $159 for SAF members ($199 for non-members) before March 13. Additional registrants from the same company pay $119. Find out more and register today.
