AAF and Century Award by March 1

SAF celebrated the longevity of seven businesses at SAF Palm Springs 2018 with the Century Award, which honors companies that have been in business for 100 years or more. From left: City Line Florist in Trumbull, Connecticut; (Susie and Nicole Palazzo); Gould’s Flowers in Lockport, New York (Janet Gould and Kylee Peters); Lake Forest Flowers in Lake Forest, Illinois (John Looby); Mitchell’s Flowers and Events in Orland Park, Illinois (George, Nancy, Megan and David Mitchell). Not pictured: Janousek Florist & Greenhouse, Inc. in Omaha, Nebraska; Johnston’s Quality Flowers in Fort Smith, Arkansas; and Wistinghausen Florist & Greenhouse.

Are you active in a community service organization? Has your company been in business since 1919? If you answered yes to either question (or both), consider applying for recognition in the American Academy of Floriculture and the Century Award.

The Society of American Florists recognizes excellence in the floral industry with a range of honors, and March 1 is the deadline to apply for the American Academy of Floriculture and the Century Award, and it is also the deadline to submit nominations for SAF’s Floriculture Hall of Fame, Paul Ecke, Jr. Award, Gold Medal Award, John H. Walker Award, and the Alex Laurie Award for Research and Education.

For details about each honor, and to download applications and nomination information, visit safnow.org/awards or contact SAF’s Jenester Corbin at 703-838-5234; awards@safnow.org.

June 4 is the deadline to apply for Floral Management’s Marketer of the Year Award.

The Professional Floral Communicators – International (PFCI) membership application and Tommy Bright Award nomination deadlines ended on Jan. 31.
