Trucks Required to Use Electronic Logging — Temporarily Exempting Agricultural Haulers

by | Dec 22, 2017 | Government Relations, Week In Review | 0 comments

As noted in the December 8, 2017 Week in Review, most commercial truckers as of December 18, 2017, including those in the floral industry, are required to use electronic logging devices (ELDs) while operating vehicles with model years 2000 or later.

Agricultural carriers were granted a 90-day delay from the compliance with the December 18 ELD mandate in response to concerns raised about the welfare of livestock during transport.

SAF will continue to follow this issue and report on implications for floral industry shippers.
