A commemorative ornament helped South Carolina florist Jennifer Pryor show a little love for her recent bridal clients.

While prepping her shop for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, Jennifer Pryor had an “aha” moment when she came across boxes of ornaments decorated with the phrases “Our First Christmas!” and “Just Married.”

She took to Facebook and Instagram, offering a free ornament to newlyweds whose weddings she did since Christmas 2016.

“It was a new idea that came to me last minute,” said the owner of White House Wedding Flowers and Winston’s Gift Shop in Lexington, South Carolina.

Pryor thought the ornament was one way she could maintain momentum with the relationships she’s built in the previous year. Additionally, she knew that several of her brides had chosen to marry in Lexington, their hometown, but now lived elsewhere. “I figured they might be back to celebrate Thanksgiving with their families,” she said.

“I’ve gotten a great response,” Pryor said. “Several people came in to get their ornament and wound up looking around and purchasing other items, which was a nice bonus!”

Mostly, though, she’s pleased at having kept the line of communication open with brides — and subtly reminding them she also runs a gift shop. “Even if they were busy and couldn’t come by that weekend, they appreciated the gesture,” she said.
