In Charleston, South Carolina, Tiger Lily handed out themed “Great Eclipse” gift boxes to wedding vendor partners. The boxes, at a cost of $13 each to the store, included items such as gourmet moon pies, Sun Chips and Oberon beer.

Want to improve the number of bridal consultations coming your way and stay on your favorite wedding vendor’s radar year-round? Shower her with thoughtful, well-timed gifts.

That’s part of Gayla Harvey’s strategy at Tiger Lily in Charleston, South Carolina. Last week, the senior event and wedding designer capitalized on the city’s prime location along the solar eclipse to send themed gift boxes to shop’s key vendor partners. Each box, which cost Tiger Lily about $13 to assemble, included snacks (gourmet moon pies and Sun Chips) and Oberon beer.

The response? Instant thanks and affirmation of the recipients love for Tiger Lily:

“Cutest most clever gift ever and so thoughtful,” gushed one happy event planner. “Thank you so much for thinking of me and delivering this to my house today, it really made my day!”

“Gayla will do things like that a couple times a year to our wedding planners/venues,” explained Manny Gonzales, who owns Tiger Lily with his wife, Clara. “These are folks who regularly bring us brides.”

Gifts are delivered throughout the year, with an eye toward generating new business, he added.

“We say we have ‘sowing’ and ‘harvest’ seasons,” Gonzales said. “The boxes are part of sowing, planting the seeds for future biz. Harvest season is when the events actually occur.”
