The Pantone Institute passed over some longtime fall color favorites this year when it came up with seasonal picks for autumn. Instead of reds and golds, the venerable color forecaster called for dusty pinks and blues tinged with gray. For many florists, those kinds of colors mean one thing: high-end.

In the October issue of Floral Management BJ Dyer, AAF, AIFD, of Bouquets in Denver and Kari Smith, AIFD, took up contributing writer Katie Hendrick’s challenge to create three designs inspired by the Pantone Fall Fashion Report. The result?  Four lux designs that bring a new level of sophistication to fall designs, retailing from $70 to $225.
