School dances aren’t solely springtime rites of passage. As temperatures drop and leaves turn colors, high schools and colleges around the country will host homecoming parties. Be ready to grab some extra business by marketing corsages and event pieces on your website and social media sites.
Try this:
- Create a corsage collection, complete with high-res, close up photos and cute names that will resonate with Gen Y customers. Put the album on your website (for easy ordering) and on social media sites, where teens are sure to see them.
- Ask teens to tag you in Facebook photos … or ask teens for their Instagram handles so you can post a shot of their finished flowers to get them excited (and nonchalantly advertise to their hundreds of followers).
- Share your expertise about corsages in your shop blog and with your local media.
- Be sure to stock your shop with flowers in your local university’s colors. Reach out to Greek organizations and alumni clubs to offer your services to brighten their homecoming functions.
