What is the Sylvia Cup Design Competition?
Now in its 57th year, SAF’s Sylvia Cup Design Competition is the longest-running live floral design contest in the U.S., showcasing the talent and innovation of top floral designers. The competition takes place during SAF’s Annual Convention.
Participants are given the exact same flowers, foliage, and design supplies—and just two hours to complete a design challenge based on a surprise theme.
During the competition, live commentators provide insight into the featured products, design techniques, and the creative process as it unfolds.
If you aren’t competing, all SAF Convention attendees are invited to watch and experience: The hottest emerging design styles—before your customers start asking for them, and an exciting, live demonstration of how to create spectacular floral pieces in a limited amount of time.
Competition Details
The 57th Annual Sylvia Cup Design Competion will take place during SAF Amelia Island 2026, SAF’s 141st Annual Convention.
The competition winners and runners up are announced on the final day of convention during the Stars of the Industry Awards Ceremony.

- $200.00 with full convention registration
- $410.00 for the design competition and Stars of the Industry Awards Evening only
