The headline of our story last week on Hurricane Irma and Harvey and their effect on Florida and Texas had some SAF members saying, “Wait a minute.”
“I think perhaps this is a bit premature,” wrote Cheryl Pacheco of Carlson-Wildwood Florist
in Tampa, in response to our story (“Floral Industry Rebounds from Hurricanes”). “My shop is still without power, as are many of my colleagues. So how can they conclude a rebound is occurring?”
Pacheco is right. While the story itself reflected industry members hard hit by the devastating storms, the headline failed to do that — and the word “rebound” was premature. We changed that word to “react” to better reflect the story and the situation.
Thanks to Pacheco for sharing her story (and for making our coverage better). Email feedback to mwestbrook@safnow.org.
