“Philanthropy and giving back to the community is part of the core values of Accent Décor,” said Margaret Hofland, co-founder of Accent Décor and the company’s new director of philanthropy. The company recently hosted a workshop for 20 girls and mentors.
Accent Décor recently helped introduce a group of young girls in Atlanta to the joys and beauty of floral design.
Twenty girls and mentors from Blueprint 58 attended the workshop, coordinated by Accent Décor and Cut Flower and led by floral designer Catherine Wayman. Blueprint 58 is a nonprofit that pairs at-risk kids with adult mentors.
“The fun-filled evening was overflowing with girl time, Celfie vases and of course flowers,” according to post-workshop blog post. “The girls were able to express their creativity by composing various arrangements with hydrangeas and roses.”
The workshop is part of an overall commitment at Accent Décor to give back to the community in a meaningful way, said Margaret Hofland, the company’s co-founder who recently retired from her role as art and marketing director to become the director of philanthropy.
