In the PetSmart commercial “Plan a Dog-Friendly Date Night” a teenage boy scores points by bringing his
date flowers and a bone for her dog.
To plan a dog-friendly date night, bring flowers. That’s one of the takeaways in a recent TV commercial by PetSmart. The commercial opens with teenagers on a couch moving in for a kiss when “the chaperone” — a dog — jumps in to separate the couple. Cue the next scene, and the teenage boy arrives for the next date with a bouquet in hand for the girl and a bone for the dog.
SAF sent a thank-you note to PetSmart: “On behalf of the entire floral industry, thank you for showcasing the power of flowers in your commercial.”
