Around the country, the school year is winding down and celebrations are ramping up. Prom is just the beginning; there are many occasions that call for flowers, including dance and music recitals, end of year banquets for sports teams and clubs, graduation parties, baccalaureate services and teacher thank you gifts.
Boost your sales by pitching your services for these festivities.
For an easy start, share the American Floral Endowment’s “Hugs and Smiles” video, which shows children gifting teachers with flowers and their instructors’ ensuing joy. The video portrays the positive power of flowers and encourages viewers to purchase arrangements to show their appreciation.
In April, AFE kicked off “Floral Marketing Monday,” a new initiative that includes free video content, updated weekly, that florists can share on their social media channels. AFE Executive Director Debi Chedester said the organization’s recent “Marketing to Millennials” study revealed that video was one of the most effective ways to reach consumers — particularly those with school-aged children. Additionally, as the ALS “Ice Bucket Challenge” proved, a picture may be worth a thousand words, but a viral video can be worth more than $100 million.
Sharing AFE’s videos is easy. Simply visit the organization’s Vimeo page, select a video, copy the link and paste it on your social media sites.
