National Geographic Highlights American Grown Effort

The November issue of National Geographic features a write-up of the American Grown movement and highlights flower grower Andrea Gagnon.

A flower farm in Gainesville, Virginia, is taking a star turn in National Geographic magazine’s November issue.

Andrea Gagnon said the coverage of her farm and domestically grown flowers and plants stemmed from the American Grown Field to Vase dinner series — a multifaceted effort to raise awareness among consumers, the media and digital influencers that is also Floral Management’s 2017 Marketer of the Year award winner. 

“Turns out that a writer for the magazine was one of the members of the media who were invited to attend the American Grown Field to Vase Dinner Tour held at LynnVale Studios in 2015,” according to the California Cut Flower Commission. “Months later, Gagnon received a call from the writer and the odyssey of making it into print began.”
