This tutorial provides SAF members with step-by-step advice on how to conduct a Petal It Forward event in their local communities on October 19, 2016.
SAF’s 2016 Petal It Forward event is two months away, scheduled for Wednesday, October 19. Petal It Forward is a “random acts of kindness” type of flower giveaway, where consumers on the street receive two flower bouquets (or flowers) — one to keep and one to share, to demonstrate the Rutgers University research that shows flowers make people happy.
SAF will hold its Petal It Forward event in New York City, and hopes to have participation from SAF members all over the country, conducting their own events in their local communities.
“The goal is to have these events happening on the same day — October 19th — in every state,” said SAF Vice President of Marketing Jennifer Sparks. “This could greatly enhance the industry’s chances of generating national news coverage with positive messages about the benefits of flowers. Not only is this effort good for the industry as a whole, but the benefits to members’ individual businesses are great.”
Sparks provides step-by-step advice on holding a Petal It Forward event, and explains how it can benefit your business in this brief 7-minute video tutorial. The article “Good Cheer, Made Easy” in the August issue of SAF’s Floral Management magazine also explains how to host a Petal It Forward Event.
