Guidance for Filing Insurance Claims for Hurricane Harvey

SAF gathered the following information from various sources in the insurance industry.

Promptly file a claim with your business insurance provider(s).  Make certain to notify each insurance company that is a potential source of recovery keeping in mind that you may have more than one policy that could include the following:

  • Flood Insurance with the National Flood Insurance Program or a private insurer.
  • Property Insurance that covers building(s) and business personal property of any type including mobile or contractor’s equipment, computer equipment and items that are specifically scheduled in the policy.
  • Auto Insurance that covers vehicles including cars, trucks, vans and trailers.
  • Any other policies that could potentially respond to your loss.
