The Department of Labor (DOL) will conduct public listening sessions to gather input about a possible new rule on overtime compensation.
The sessions will be held in Georgia, Washington, Missouri, Colorado, and Rhode Island.
In May 2016, DOL finalized a controversial rule that would have more than doubled the minimum salary level required to exempt executive, administrative and professional employees from eligibility for overtime.
In November of 2016, a federal judge blocked the rule noting that the Obama Labor Department exceeded its authority and ignored the intent of Congress.
The Trump Administration took administrative steps to eliminate the rule but noted that it may issue a revised rule in the future.
DOL has announced that it anticipates issuing its own overtime rule in January of 2019.
Those who would like to participate in the listening sessions must register for the free events.
