PR Programs

In the floral industry, the Society of American Florists understands the positive impact flowers and plants have on people, what a wonderful gift choice floral products make, and the expertise professional florists offer.

To make sure consumers get those messages, SAF conducts innovative public relations campaigns to generate positive floral news stories nationwide. The campaigns are backed by results from groundbreaking research studies conducted in partnership with prestigious universities into the effects flowers and plants have on human emotion, as well as omnibus surveys and polls on consumer buying behavior. SAF also partners with outside experts in the areas of relationships and gift giving, interior decorating, and entertaining to bring depth, context, and third-party credibility to the flower message.

SAF members are welcome to use content and ideas from these programs to ignite their own local PR efforts. SAF also offers topic-specific online resource centers for members with step-by-step advice and tools.

SAF’s consumer research and strategic public relations programs are a direct result of the SAF PR Fund, an industry-wide promotion initiative.
