The floral industry got a major a third-party endorsement when popular game show host Pat Sajak said, “Mothers love flowers” during the May 4 episode of Wheel of Fortune. Sajak gave Mother’s Day flowers a nod while promoting Wheel of Fortune’s Mother’s Day Giveaway Sweepstakes.
Clara Naylor of Razzle Dazzle Flowers in Mesa, Arizona, pointed out the plug to the Society of American Florists.
“I think it might be nice for SAF to contact them and give them kudos for the great flower publicity,” Naylor said. “I know I appreciated hearing it!”
SAF sent a thank-you note to Sajak via Wheel of Fortune’s communications director and publicity coordinator for the on-air mention of Mother’s Day flowers: “On behalf of the entire floral industry, thank you for reminding your customers about the joy of Mother’s Day flowers.”
Wheel of Fortune is the country’s longest running syndicated game show.
