Botanical name: Jasminum officinale; Jasminum polyanthum<\/p>\n

Plant description: A twining vine with small white (sometimes pink-budded) star-shaped flowers that are powerfully fragrant – one plant can scent a room. Sold mainly as a trained potted vine; sprigs appear in bridal work.<\/p>\n

Availability: Spring to summer bloom; potted jasmine sold in late winter.<\/p>\n

Vase life: Grown as a plant, not usually sold cut.<\/p>\n

Plant care: Potted vine: full sun to part shade, moist well-drained soil, a trellis for support; prune hard after flowering; bring indoors below zone 7.<\/p>\n
