Botanical name: Begonia spp.<\/p>\n

Plant description: A large group of tender plants grown for showy flowers and often decorative leaves. Most are 8 inches to 2 feet tall with upright, mounding or trailing habits; flowers may be single or double.<\/p>\n

Colors: pink, red, orange, yellow, white, bicolor<\/p>\n

Availability: Summer through fall in the garden; sold as a flowering potted plant.<\/p>\n

Vase life: Grown as a plant, not usually sold cut.<\/p>\n

Plant care: Bright indirect light or partial shade; keep soil moist but never soggy (begonias rot easily); water at the base and keep leaves dry; keep above 55 F.<\/p>\n
