Botanical name: Malus domestica<\/p>\n

Flower description: The spring flowers of the apple tree: five-petaled blooms 1 to 1.5 inches across in clusters of four to six, opening white with a pink tinge that fades. Florists use the flowering branches.<\/p>\n

Colors: white, pink<\/p>\n

Availability: Spring.<\/p>\n

Special Care: Buy branches with buds showing color and only a few flowers open. Re-cut woody stems and place in deep water with flower food (SAF general care).<\/p>\n

Pet safety: Apple stems, leaves and seeds contain cyanogenic glycosides and are toxic to dogs, cats and horses.<\/p>\n
