Florists Reach Out to Shooting Victims’ Families

As community members in Roseburg, Oregon, continue to reel from the mass shooting at Umpqua Community College, local florists are providing some measure of hope and comfort.

Both FTD and Teleflora have contacted florists in the UCC area to donate flowers for the victims’ families, memorial services and celebrations of life.

Tim Saunders of Tim’s Treehouse Nursery and Floral on Central in Sutherlin said an FTD representative contacted him about the flower donations. “Victims’ families can come here and order their casket sprays, and it’s being donated by FTD,” he said.

Other florists in the area will also be donating flowers. “Teleflora has reached out to us and has donated some flowers to pay it forward to some of the families that are in need,” said Debbie Tucker, manager of Long’s Flowers in Roseburg.
